Romanians celebrate today, December 1st, their National Day.
On this occasion, Bucharest and all the big cities in Romania are hosting military parades, concerts, exhibitions and other open-air events.
This year, Romania celebrates 99 years from its Great Union, when all Romanian provinces united and Romania became an independent state.
3,500 soldiers and specialists from the Romanian Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Romanian Intelligence Service, with more than 350 technical means, out of which 50 aircraft, and militaries from several Allied or partner countries participate at the Military Parade organized on the occasion of the National Day of Romania, in the Bucharest Arch of Triumph Square.
Over 300 foreign soldiers come from Bulgaria, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Moldova, Slovakia, the USA, Turkey and Ukraine.
Also in Bucharest, a military and religious ceremony took place this morning at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in Carol I Park.
At the request and with the support of the local authorities, representatives of the Romanian Armed Forces conduct military and religious ceremonies, meetings with veteran soldiers and veterans of war, and organize military equipment exhibitions in some garrisons where large military units are deployed.
Romanian National Flag is raised in all the military institutions in the country, also aboard sea and river vessels. National Day of Romania is also celebrated by Romanian militaries deployed in missions abroad, in theaters of operations.
