The EXPO 2017 Astana “Future Energy” celebrates, today, the National Day of Romania, with traditional folk dances and concerts.
Earlier this morning, Romanian and Kazakh Foreign Ministers have had talks on bilateral relations, as in June this year, Romania and Kazakhstan celebrated 25 years of cooperation.
Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Meleșcanu 's meeting with his Kazakh counterpart, Kairat Abdrahkamov, is the second since his arrival in Kazakhstan, after the yesterday talks with the Kazakh Prime Minister.
The Heads of Romanian and Kazakh Diplomacies have also had a working dinner during which they agreed on topics of common interest such as energy cooperation - says Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Meleșcanu. "Energy is the core of our countries' collaboration. Energy is the key to modern economy. We now intend to diversify this cooperation and expand it from IT to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), Agriculture or Transport".
Along with all of these sectors, the parthership between Romania and Kazakhstan will be deepened in the cultural field as well, as there is a desire for better collaboration between the universities in the two countries - Kazakh Foreign Minister, Kairat Abdrahkamov announced. "We agreed to increase the number of Kazakh students coming to Romanian universities and of Romanian students coming to Kazakhstan. We will also organize visits to Astana and Bucharest of Academic professionals from both countries".
Today at the Astana World Exhibition celebrates the National Day of Romania, marked by a special ceremony, a performance of folk dances, a concert of Gheorghe Zamfir and a visit to the Romanian pavilion.
