Museums Night, to the eighth edition
Around 100 museums will open their doors in Romania on the night of 19 May for all those passionate about technic, aviation or art, during the eighth edition of "Museums night".

The National Network of Museums in Romania hold on Saturday "Museums Night ", the event involved around 100 museums and organizations in the country.
In Bucharest there are 28 cultural institutions that will open their doors at night for all those passionate about aviation, technical and art.
“In Bucharest we have opened twenty locations. There are several museums, but also cultural organizations which approaches the museum field, such as a heritage building that hosts an organization.”
“There are also exhibitions, with a certain theme, which we believe important and we have included in the circuit", said Angelica Iacob, coordinator " Museums Night ".
And this year, as in previous years, there are expected tens of thousands of visitors to museums in Bucharest.
They may choose to spend the night of 19 to 20 May 2012 by doing so the museums who have made a tradition in celebrating this event, and museums or cultural organizations that joined in 2011 or even this year.
The Technical Museum "Dimitrie Leonida" returns this year, in the attention of visitors after a break of two years, instead the National Military Museum is closed to the public at this year's edition.
Another attraction for visitors could be Bellu Museum, where, this year, declared also the Caragiale year, people can see the writer Ion Luca Caragiale’s tomb and the one of the architect Ion Mincu.
“The most visited museums last year that took about 20,000 visitors, are those which have tradition to celebrate this event such as "George Enescu" Museum, History Museum, the National Museum of Art of Romania, or Labirint Museum, an exciting collaboration between Antipa Museum and the Romanian Peasant Museum,” said Angelica Iacob.

Museums night 2012 encourages the use of bicycles to browse more easily the distances between the museums from Bucharest
Visitors will have at theirs disposal 100 bikes entered into a comprehensive national programme of bike-sharing.
RATB(Bucharest Public Transport Authority) says that on the night of the museums it gets out means of transport on the field for visitors to be able to move between museums.
Museums Night is a successful event that is already on the eighth edition and it is celebrated by about 3,000 museums in Europe.
Since 2011 the National Network of Museums in Romania coordinates also the organizing of the museum circuit in Bucharest, which was initiated in 2008 by the National Museum of Art of Romania.

At the event there have opted-in and around 100 museums and organizations in the country.
Museums in Aiud, Alba Iulia Alexandria, Bacău, Baia Mare, Botoşani, Bran, Braşov, Brăila, Bucureşti, Caransebeş, Constanţa, Ciucea, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Dej, Deva, Galaţi, Giurgiu, Iaşi, Oradea, Piteşti, Ploieşti, Sf. Gheorghe, Sibiu, Sighişoara, Sinaia, Slatina, Slobozia, Târgovişte,Târgu-Jiu, Târgu-Mureş or Turda awaits their nocturnal visitors.
Concerts, screenings of films, characters who come to life, activities for children, performances or displays of vintage costumes complete in a manner the programme of this special night, making the visit of exhibitions organized by museums in unforgetable experiences.
