MP Ion Stan, prosecuted for influence peddling by DNA
DNA began prosecuting deputy Ion Stan, accused of influence peddling after he called from a businessman who denounced him the amount of 130 000 lei.

National Anticorruption prosecutors have opened a criminal investigation against Deputy Ion Stan, who was charged with the offense of trading in influence, says DNA in a statement.
DNA reports that they began prosecuting Ion Stan deputy accused of influence peddling after he called from a businessman who denounced him the amount of 130,000 lei for campaign expenses in exchange for influence to obtain business.
In the same file, also the deputy’s driver is prosecuted by Deputy, Florin Sarca, for complicity in influence peddling.
The MP, who was heard Thursday for several hours, at DNA center, received banned from leaving the country for 30 days, says the National Anticorruption Directorate.

In order to start criminal investigation it is showsnthat there is data and clues that Ion Stan, on 12-14 November 2012, claimed from an informer the amount of 130,000 lei, money intended for the purchase of fuel needed for cars that were to be used during the election campaign and the purchase of food that were to be shared around elections.
MP, say prosecutors, claimed the money implying that he has influences over some decision-making officials in order to facilitate the conduct of ongoing contracts as well as to obtain new works contracts by companies controlled directly or indirectly by the informer.
PSD deputy Ion Stan said Thursday, leaving the DNA, that he was not arrested by corruption officers but would have willingly given, thus responding to a subpoena issued by investigators, following to be back Friday to give a statement in the criminal case where he is investigated.
57 years old, Ion Stan is Dâmboviţa deputy, who is at his third consecutive term in the legislature.
He is Vice President of the Parliamentary Commission SRI activity control.
