Most schools will reopen on February 8 and the system that takes into account the evolution of the pandemic in each locality will return.
The announcement was made yesterday by President Klaus Iohannis after a meeting at Cotroceni Palace with the prime minister and health and education ministers.
The final decision will be taken at the beginning of next month, transmitted the RRA editor, Carmen Gavrila, who followed the statement of the President.
Reporter: President Klaus Iohannis made a new call for compliance with measures to prevent infection, precisely so that the epidemiological situation does not worsen and thus influence the reopening of schools. The head of state explained that the evaluation for education is changing due to restrictions, but all other measures remain in force.
Klaus Iohannis: The green scenario: everyone goes to school. Yellow scenario: kindergartens, grades I-IV, VIII and XII, go to school, the other classes are online. The red scenario: when the number 3 is exceeded in terms of infection rate, children from grades V-VIII and high schools stay at home, but the kindergarten and primary school classes continue physically. When the infection rate exceeds 6, the town is quarantined and everyone stays at home. Schools are closing.
Reporter: Regarding universities, which have autonomy, the decision to resume or not the physical courses will be taken by each university. However, obviously each institution of higher education can also follow the scenario established for pre-university education.
The head of state pointed out that all this can only become a reality if the pandemic situation does not worsen severely.
