Monica Iacob Ridzi was put on trial
DNA prosecutors have decided to put on trial the former Minister of Youth, Monica Iacob Ridzi, in the case for the organization of Youth Day, in May 2009. The PDL deputy was charged with abuse of office against public interests.

Anti-corruption prosecutors put on trial PDL deputy Monica Iacob Ridzi, former Minister of Youth, in the case for the organization of Youth Day, in May 2009, at Costineşti.
She is charged with abuse of office against public interests, intellectual forgery, corruption, and forgery.
11 other people were prosecuted along with Monica Iacob Ridzi.
The Chamber of Deputies rejected in December 2010, the National Anti-corruption Direction’s request for approval of an information search in Ridzi’s case, but also the request for extension of the criminal investigation.
Previously, on 28 July 2009, the Parliament approved the request from the Anti-corruption Directorate attorneys to begin the prosecution of the former Minister of Youth, Monica Iacob Ridzi.
According to the National Anti-corruption Direction, in May 2009, the former minister, as main credit release authority, awarded illegally contracts to private companies for services under the pretext of organising major national events, dedicated to National Youth Day.
Damage was estimated at 650,000 euros.
Several goods owned by Monica Iacob Ridzi, bank accounts and over one million lei from some firms’ accounts were seized to recover the money.
