The Ministry of Finance is in dialog with representatives of the European Commission in order to identify the best solutions that will lead to economic development and alignment with the economic principles assumed, but without a set of measures to be subject to tax reform.
The institution's reaction comes in the wake of information that has appeared in the public space about the government's intention to increase taxes and duties, as well as to eliminate certain tax breaks, which the institution's representatives say come 'from an old working document and do not represent the government's current plans.'
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu categorically rules out speculation about tax hikes being prepared by the Government and has asked ministers to be more careful when communicating on the subject.
The Head of Government says in a Facebook post that he has asked ministers not to put forward any tax proposals to the Government without prior consultation with business and civil society.
