Mini vacation - 25.000 MIA employees mobilized at national level

Articol de Radiojurnal, 13 August 2022, 20:23

For the mini-holiday of Saint Mary and Navy Day, 25.000 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - policemen, gendarmes, firefighters - are mobilized at national level. A very large number of tourists are expected on the coast in Constanta and in the cities where the Navy Day festivities are scheduled, but also in places of worship.

In order to monitor and streamline traffic, the Traffic Police has announced that it is removing all existing radars from the main roads and adds additional filters to detect drivers who consume alcohol and drugs.

Monica Dajbog, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs: Because of the fact that during this period we expect an overload on national roads and highways, the police will take additional measures to streamline traffic and prevent serious accidents. Road crews will operate with approximately 340 radar devices every day on road sectors with a high risk of accidents due to exceeding the legal speed. Also, the traffic police will organize punctual actions in traffic to detect drivers who get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or other prohibited substances.
