MEP Victor Negrescu appointed Chief Negotiator for next year's EU budget

MEP Victor Negrescu has been appointed chief negotiator for next year's EU budget, with priorities for additional funds to improve living standards and develop agriculture.

In a press release issued today, Victor Negrescu stresses that the money allocated to Member States should not decrease, that it is necessary to protect the resources already granted to Romania, at a time when the long-term European budget is being renegotiated.

Negrescu also says that he will ensure that the budget will include the necessary resources to support Romania's full accession to the Schengen area.
