The government has an obligation to support afforestation and reforestation projects, given that it spends billions of euros on health every year, as people also get sick from pollution, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said.
The head of the executive signed the memorandum for the creation of the Bucharest-Ilfov green belt, an event organised in the context of the marking of Environment Day in the Balotesti Forest area.
Clearly, pollution kills and corruption kills. Pollution, on the other hand, is an invisible killer, and so we have this obligation and, after all, it is a necessity, because the Romanian Government spends billions of euros on health. Usually people also get sick because of pollution.
Marcel Ciolacu pointed out that 75% of the targets that Romania has set itself for accession to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development concern the environment.
