Meeting of Romanian Minister of Defense with EDA Executive Director
Talks focuse on dialogue with EDA in the context of Romania's approaching Presidency of the Council of the EU (January-July 2019).

Romanian Minister of Defense, Mihai Fifor, Secretary of State with the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) Mircea Dusa and Chief of Defense Staff, Gen.Nicolae Ciucă have discussed, on Monday, in Bucharest, with the Executive Director of the European Agency for Development (EDA), Jorge Domecq, mainly about strengthening dialogue with EDA in the context of Romania’s approaching Presidency of the Council of the European Union (January-July 2019), MApN announced in a press release.
Minister Fifor and EDA Executive Director also exchanged ideas on results of the meeting of EU Defense Ministers held last week in Brussels and on the main areas of interest - Permanent Structured Co-operation (PESCO), Coordinated Annual Review on Defense (CARD), Capability Development Plan (CDP), defense research, and Commission's efforts to financially support capabilities development processes.
Agenda also included topics related to the European Defense Industrial Development Program (EDIDP) and the European Defense Fund (EDF), military mobility, NATO-EU relations, but also Romania’s priorities during the EU Council Presidency in the field of Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP), as well as activities to be organized in cooperation with EDA in this context.
