Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă and her North-Macedonian counterpart, Zoran Zaev, have discussed today in Bucharest about development of bilateral relations and collaboration of the two countries in the Western Balkans region.
Another theme was the Euro-Atlantic integration of Republic of North Macedonia.
RRA Reporter: The Western Balkans represent a priority of Romania's foreign policy, Prime Minister Dăncilă said and encouraged her counterpart Zoran Zaev to continue reforms so that North Macedonia fully meets the requirements for EU membership.
Viorica Dăncilă: I have presented, during talks, the offer of support in the accession negotiations coming from different Romanian institutions, given the relatively recent experience of Romania in this process. At the same time, we have discussed the bilateral economic relations, which I believe should be improved, thus enabling us to fully exploit the existing cooperation potential between our countries.
RRA Reporter: North-Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has thanked the Chamber of Deputies for ratifying on Wednesday his country's Protocol for NATO accession. Zoran Zaev underlined the importance of joining NATO and the EU.
Zoran Zaev: EU and NATO, for North Macedonia as well as for the whole region and Europe - are necessary because they represent stability, security, economy and progress. North Macedonia is in the process of essential reforms and every day we work for European principles and Europe's values.
RRA Reporter: The two Prime Ministers have also decided to organize, in the near future, a forum for businesspeople to boost bilateral economic exchanges.
