The "Hot meal in schools" program will be extended, according to an emergency ordinance adopted on Friday, October 28, by the government. The initiative wants to encourage parents to send their children to school.
Also in Friday's meeting, the executive adopted a normative act regarding the establishment of a new government agency that will deal with the promotion of Romanian exports and foreign investments in the country.
To continue the fight against school dropouts, the executive passed the emergency ordinance that increases from 350 to 450 the number of schools where students will receive a hot meal each day. In this way, more than 39 thousand preschoolers and students will join the "Hot meal in schools" pilot program.
Another emergency ordinance adopted establishes the Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade, which will implement the government's policy to attract foreign investments and promote Romanian exports to the world.
Two other normative acts adopted in Friday's meeting will use more than eight billion lei from the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience to modernize locomotives and passenger cars and to build an expressway that will connect the city of Cluj-Napoca to the A3 highway. This road will streamline transport in the Cluj-Napoca metropolitan area.
