Polytechnic University of Timisoara launched on Wednesday, October 2, a master's program in quantum computing, a field that uses the principles of quantum mechanics to solve complex problems in computer science, physics or mathematics, faster than traditional computers.

It is the second largest program in the country, after the one in Bucharest, and student interest has been very high, says the rector of the university, Florin Dragan.

"People are interested in having in their CVs the most up-to-date knowledge of what is happening in business. As the labor market is a bit more demanding, there is a need for specialists in certain fields. It's knowledge that companies want. For example, this master was initiated in discussions with companies, with partners outside the university, precisely because there is a need in the labor market", said Florin Dragan.

Currently, one out of five master's students of the Polytechnic University of Timisoara is over 30 years old and feels the need for a second specialization through an academic study program to meet the new demands of the labor market.
