Romania has progressed in the field of renewable energy - European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, in charge of Energy Union, said during a Summit in the City of Ploieşti.
The statements were made at the 5th edition of the Energy Summit on "160 years since the establishment of the first modern refinery in the world, the one in Ploiești". The Summit was organized by the Aspen Institute of Romania.
On this occasion, the European official reminded that Romania has an impressive potential for solar, hydro and wind energy and expressed his intention to establish a collaboration in this sector.
Maroš Šefčovič: You have made a wonderful breakthrough. You have reached the targets you’ve set. You made the statistical transfers. It's a huge success (...) First of all, you have technology. And if I look at your potential in terms of solar, wind, hydro or biomass, it's impressive. You have the potential and I think we should work together towards the benefit of your country, your region and the whole European Union".
