Romania must strive to attract investors and demonstrate that it offers good business opportunities - says Mark Meyer, the President of the Romanian-American Chamber of Commerce.
In an interview with Radio Romania News (RRA), he recommended that the authorities in Bucharest also visit the City of New York, the US business capital, not just Washington, and come up with concrete proposals.
Mark Meyer: "Since 2000, Romania has concentrated its most energy on strengthening political, military and security relations with the United States, and this is excellent. Every Romanian Government has done a very good job in these areas, still they have almost ignored the economic and business relationship, which is as important as the others.
The US business environment does not invest in a country like Romania just because it is a member of NATO and the European Union.
This is important and gives investors a sense of security, but obviously when you invest in a country you do it because you find a good business opportunity".

The discussion took place after the largest trade promotion event, held annually by the US Department of Commerce, Trade Winds, at its 10th edition.
Representatives of approximately 100 American companies have been in Bucharest for three days, to establish contacts with Romanian companies, in order to develop joint projects.
