Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu argues that the reform of the budgetary apparatus is being carried out of necessity, as a consequence of all the things that have not worked.
The chief executive said that people should not be scared and added that the business environment is still absorbing all this labor, which is a good thing.
Marcel Ciolacu also said that he prefers to carry out this reform quietly and added that the government has cut 5% of the wage envelope, i.e. the state's spending on the salaries of civil servants.
Marcel Ciolacu: We will continue investments, from my point of view, at an even faster pace than last year. I know the criticism, what I am being told with the deficit overrun and everything. Those who had to understand last year will understand this year too, I will not stop investments. We will stick to the 7% deficit we have committed to and we will also greatly reduce the costs for the Romanian State. There are two approaches to reforming the Romanian state. I prefer a more silent approach, with targeted and very clear normative acts, with budget cuts.
The Head of Government said that, most likely on Monday, he will present to the coalition meeting the final form of the envisaged restructuring and reorganization of the central executive apparatus and of the institutions coordinated by the General Secretariat of the Government.
