"We have a clear and firm governmental plan to fully join the Schengen area by the end of the year" - wrote Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu in an internet post.
Romania's accession with air and sea borders is a well-deserved success for the country as a member state of the European Union, and the benefits are obvious both for Romanian citizens who can travel more easily, and for the national economy, by opening new opportunities in this area of free movement.
"As regards the accession with land borders, I am convinced - writes the Prime Minister - that through seriousness and stability we will achieve this goal, as we have succeeded in two other major projects: joining NATO and the European Union and now we are preparing to be part of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development".
