Romania is not in danger of going to war - said Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, referring to the three RO-ALERT warning messages received by the inhabitants of Tulcea county on Friday night, in the context of the war in Ukraine.
He told a press conference in Tulcea that Romania has never been safer from a military point of view than now.
Marcel Ciolacu: The Russian Federation has not made any intentional attack on Romania and I can tell you with certainty that it will not do so. There is no justification for this. We already have a system in place on the Danube, especially in the Ismail area. The state has an obligation to inform. Sometimes that information bothers us. Sometimes we don't like it. Me also, I repeat, at 2:00 in the morning, and at 3:30, was informed of what was happening, but it was not an attack on Romania. It's a respect that the state must show to the population, even if it bothers them, they must be informed. This is the way it is all over the world.
Reporter: The population of Tulcea county was warned on Friday night about the possibility of falling objects from the airspace and was advised to take protective measures if the situation requires it.
On social media, several people in the area claimed they heard loud explosions and fell asleep in fear.
