Romania's accession to the Schengen area by air and sea is irreversible, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said yesterday.
He added that there is a political agreement with Austria for this to take place in March next year, even though a timetable for accession with land borders has not yet been set.
The prime minister said that the integration into Schengen with the maritime border will exponentially increase the importance of the Port of Constanta, and Romania will change its strategy from next year, in order to be fully able to join the free movement area.
