"A president for all" is the slogan under which PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu launched his candidacy for the presidential elections at the PSD Congress.

Two thousand delegates gathered at Romexpo to vote for Marcel Ciolacu for a new term as party president and candidate for the party's presidential bid.

In a long speech, he launched his program to win the presidency, a 10-year plan with 3 strategic directions: reindustrialization, development of agriculture and services and small businesses. 'PSD is ready to take on a new political project for Romanians', he said.

"Welcome. PSD must propose a new model of president to Romanians", said Social Democrat leader Marcel Ciolacu. He said that through unity, the party had managed to regain Romanians' trust and asked all Social Democrats for continuity in rebuilding Romania.

Marcel Ciolacu: That's what we assume, like all strong nations, a presidential project of national renewal. Yes, I will run for and win the presidency of Romania! Yes, after 20 years, Romania deserves a president for all.

Unity and continuity - these were the watchwords in the Social Democrats' speeches, but there were also harsh verbal attacks, including on the governing partners in the PNL.

A first at the congress will be the vote of the more than 2000 delegates present. Votes will be cast electronically using an individual QR code.
