Mediafax informs that the alimentation with electric energy in Muntenia was affected since Wednesday because of massive rime deposits.
Until Thursday, at the lunch time, 80 towns and villages in the counties Constanţa, Tulcea, Călăraşi and Ialomiţa have remained without electricity.
41 interventions teams from Renel will work in the four counties to remediate the damages caused by the bad weather.
Low temperatures affect the traffic
The low temperatures affect the railway and road traffic, especially in the North and the Centre of the country.
The police officers recommend the drivers to drive carefully and stock their car with good winter driving equipment as there is a real danger of building up silver thaw on the roads in Buzău, Brăila, Ialomiţa and Galaţi as well as on some parts on A2 highway.
On the other hand, the fog causes problems on A1 highway, from the kilometre 60 to the capital, and on A3 highway, between Turda and Gilău.
The National Society of Railway Passenger Transport announces that the railway traffic has suffered changes in the North of the country or has been cancelled between Braşov, Cluj and Iaşi.
The air traffic is running in normal conditions, still several flights were delayed because of the bad weather across Europe.
The reporters from Radio Romania News broadcast that the bad weather has damaged the electricity wires too, therefore some localities from the counties din Brăila, Constanţa and Harghita remained without electricity.
The victims of the cold weather
The cold wave that came across Central Europe has caused the death of eighteen people in Polland, four in the Czech Republic, four in Lithuania, while the massive snowfalls continues to affect the traffic in France and Great Britain.
The victims are mostly homeless men of ages between 35-60 years old, the majority of them are drunk.
Polland, except the South, is under a thick layer of snow.
The temperatures decreased again in the North-East, after they had reached a record of minus 33 Celsius degrees.
The air and railway traffic is still intermittent.
The traffic is disrupted across Europe
The airport in the Czech Republic, the most frequented airport in Europe, was closed and about forty flights have been cancelled because of the massive snowfalls.
The road and railway traffic has also suffered important disruptions.
Great Britain is still facing really low temperatures, as well as snowfalls and snow storms, which are to be critical in the next 48 hours.
The bad weather affected mostly the railway traffic, but also the air traffic.
The second largest airport in London, Gatwick, will remain closed until tomorrow.
Many highways were partially or totally closed because of the snow.
In France, after the central part, the west part and Paris were affected by snowfalls.
Hundreds of drivers were blocked in traffic and on Thursday 20% of the high-speed trains between Paris and the South-East of the country were cancelled.
