Many resorts are in the red scenario until the end of the year

The coronavirus pandemic has changed the winter holiday schedule.

Many resorts are in the red scenario until the end of the year, which means there will be no parties and festive meals with a lot of people, and tourists should know that non-compliance with the restrictions imposed by the authorities can be sanctioned. However, the hotels are occupied to the maximum capacity, the mountain areas being in high demand.

Reporter: Catalina Cretu - Vatra Dornei Resort, in Suceava County, is one of the most sought after by tourists during the holidays, however the increased incidence of coronavirus cases places the town in the red scenario until after New Year, during which the operation of restaurants and cafes inside buildings is forbidden.

Exceptions are hotels and guesthouses whose activity is allowed only for people staying there. Bars, clubs and discos are closed, as are gambling halls.

Strict measures are also imposed in the resorts in Brasov County. Tourists can go to boarding houses, can dine where they are accommodated, but no parties will be organized due to travel restrictions during the night. The resorts on Prahova Valley receive tourists, but in pandemic conditions. In Prahova County, several dozen localities register an infection rate of over three per thousand, restrictions being imposed for each of these places.

The ski slopes remain open during the holidays, but even in this case some special measures have been taken to avoid congestion since the opening of the season.

Host: The authorities announce that during this period special attention will be paid to recreational tourist areas where 250 gendarmes will carry out prevention and information activities daily. Tourists are advised to avoid crowds, wear protective masks and to keep the mandatory physical distance, including on the ski slopes.
