Most young women who fall victim to prostitution abroad come from poor villages and disorganized families, with major financial problems or in which at least one parent is abusive or alcoholic - is the conclusion of DIICOT prosecutors in last year's activity report.
According to organized crime prosecutors, in addition to the states of Western Europe, another destination for trafficking victims has become Malta.
Another trend is that the pandemic has reduced human trafficking abroad, but has increased domestic. The DIICOT report also shows that online recruitment has doubled compared to 2019.
