Memorandum signed by Romania and the United States, in Washington, on the occasion of President Klaus Iohannis' visit, recommends a rigorous evaluation of providers for the complete assurance of implementation of 5G technology, states the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE).

Document highlights the importance of protecting electronic communications networks against unauthorized access or interference, source says.

President Klaus Iohannis announced on Tuesday, after meeting with US counterpart Donald Trump, that a bilateral Memorandum on 5G technology has been signed.

As Romanian Head of State said, this document does not refer to a particular company, but clarifies some criteria of transparency, compatibility with the rule of law.
