The Romanian National Bank (RNB) will carefully analyze the governing program when this will materialize, RNB Governor Mugur Isărescu said today.
Regarding the Executive's intention to introduce a turnover tax instead of the profit tax on 1st of January, the Central Bank Governor argued that the idea does not belong to any RNB specialist.
Mugur Isărescu: "The turnover tax exists in many countries of the world. I do not say it is good or bad.
The ideas that are being attributed to the Central Bank can be found in any economic policy manual, so they do not necessarily have to belong to a RNB employee. It's important who is receiving these ideas, how they receive them, and how they puts them into practice".
Today, the RNB Board of Directors have decided to maintain the monetary policy interest rate at 1.75% per annum, RRA Editor Daniela Mănuţă transmitted.
