Lucian Pintilie and Werner Herzog invited to TIFF 2011
The tenth edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) starts in Piaţa Unirii, Cluj-Napoca, on Friday.

On Friday, over 1000 spectators are expected in Piaţa Unirii in Cluj-Napoca where the tenth edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) will begin.
The film which will officially open the festival is ‘Potiche’, directed by Francois Ozon.
Between 4 and 12 June nine successful feature films will be screened in Piaţa Unirii in Cluj, which will also host the TIFF Lounge where master classes hold by professionals of the cinema industry, conferences, book and DVD launches will take place.
Director, actor, screen writer and German producer Werner Herzog will be celebrated at TIFF by presenring a retrospective of his films within the 3x3 section. Film fans are waiting with interest to watch ‘Even Dwarfs Started Small’, ‘Fitzcarraldo’, ‘My Best Fiend’, ‘The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser’.
Together with Werner Herzorg, special guests are invited at TIFF, such as directors Fernando Leon of Aranoa from Spain and Jaco Van Dormael from Belgium.
Director Lucian Pintilie will attend TIFF for the screening of several films made by him within the film retrospective dedicated to him.
Over the nine editions, TIFF has been honoured with the presence of several world cinema personalities whom have been handed lifetime achievement awards, including Julie Delpy, Michael Radford, Annie Girardot, Udo Kier, Vanessa Redgrave, Franco Nero, Nicolas Roeg, Catherine Deneuve, Claudia Cardinale and Wim Wenders.
