There are long lines at the Giurgiu (Romania) - Ruse (Bulgaria) border crossing point. Tourists are waiting for about 70 minutes to leave Romania and spend holidays in resorts in Bulgaria, Greece or Turkey. Drivers who want to enter Romania have to wait for half an hour.
RRA Correspondent Marcela Petcu, quoting Romanian Border Police, states that for vehicles, there are 3 driveways on the way to Romania and 4 on the way to Bulgaria.
According to Romanian Border Police, staff at the border crossing points has been suplemented, and additional control flows will be created. To avoid crowding, traffic participants are advised to cross all border crossing points and consult the "online traffic" application available on www.politiadefrontiera.ro, which shows an average of waiting times.
Romanian Coast Guard also recommends that tourists cross all border crossings to Bulgaria, in order to avoid overcrowding.
In Constanța County, there are 5 border crossing points to Bulgaria, totalling 9 driveways to the check-points to enter Bulgaria, and 10 driveways to enter Romania, accessing Vama Veche - Durankulak, Ostrov - Silistra şi Negru Vodă - Kardam.
Lipniţa-Kunnardja and Dobromir-Krushari customs have a daily operating schedule between 8:00 and 20:00 and are only authorized for vehicles with a maximum weight of 3.5 tons.
