Local authorities are trying to attract doctors

The scarcity of doctors, especially in rural areas, makes the mayor to seek solutions to lure you young medical graduates to settle in the country after college.

In Romania, where more than 5,000 people have no family doctor, young physicians can get numerous benefits.

Symbolic rent, housing, fuel and even car service – these are just some of the facilities that House of Commons authorities of Romania tries to provide doctors to convince to come to practice in rural areas.

It's all part of a program to ensure the amount of family doctors in the county.

Thousands of villagers, without family doctor

The program began, Sălaj is a county where thousands of people from the village have no family doctor.

Offers with medical facilities will be sent in special centres in Bucharest and Cluj, according to Ioan Catana we were, a member of the Association of Communes of Romania and one of the initiators of the project.

"The doctor in the municipality must take care of him. I signed some contracts, they are all our locations, all of them have asked us to point - the family doctor, - pharmacy, and dentistry.

"I have a contract with 1 euro low-rent annually. Now, nor should we. Who serve? The inhabitants of the village, right? We who represent, not them? "says Ioan Catana.

In Sălaj County it is necessary at least 100 doctors and several hundred nurses.
