Liviu Dragnea, charged in the referendum case
The General Secretary of PSD, Liviu Dragnea, says he was charged of corruption by the prosecutors because "he mobilized the people to vote".

The General Secretary of PSD, Liviu Dragnea, was indicted for corruption by prosecutors in the fraud case of July 29th referendum.
After discussions with prosecutors, he said he was charged for it "associated with thousands and tens of thousands of people to ensure a higher turnout of 50 per cent + 1."
Liviu Dragnea went to DNA accompanied by the lawyer and said that he will return the following week to be heard.
At the entering of the institution, the PSD General Secretary said that he ran a fair campaign and that he did not know in what capacity was cited by prosecutors.
"I legally, correctly led a campaign.. I also went to vote, maybe you too went to vote. God forbid not to call you too," said Liviu Dragnea.
The National Anticorruption Directorate confirmed in mid august that it organizes carries out regarding the research on the referendum from July 29th for dismissal of President Traian Basescu.
In a press release, DNA explains though that it can not provide additional data on the state of the respective research.
DNA clarifications occurred after mayors from counties of of Gorj, Mehedinti, Olt, Teleorman stated that hundreds of people were called at hearings by anticorruption prosecutors concerning the possible fraud in the referendum.
