On Wednesday, the Government analyzed at first sight, the bill related to the code of social dialogue.
At the beginning of the week, the Executive has announced that they would take responsibility, in Parliament, for the aforementioned bill.
However, on Tuesday, trade unions requested the Government to retire and certify the retirement of the code of social dialogue from the Economic and Social Council of Romania by means of an official statement.
At the beginning of the week, Ioan Botiş, Labour Minister, has stated that, after talking with trade unions and employers’ associations, they intend to end the aforementioned bill.
According to the bill proposed by the Minister, even if trade unions do not sum up at least one over fifty per cent out of the number of the employees of a company, they can become representative.
Likewise, according to the bill, the Government will retire from the Economic and Social Council of Romania but they must name some members from the forum in order to represent the civil society.
Ioan Botiş was also saying that this bill makes up the Labour Code and the regulations on labour market as the Code comprises five very important laws such as the Law on Employers Associations, the Law on Trade Unions, the Law on Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Industrial Disputes Act and the Law on the Economic and Social Council of Romania.
