The City of Sibiu hosts, this weekend, the largest meeting of Transylvanian Saxons ever organized in Romania. Thousands of people are expected to attend. There will be many events that will turn Sibiu into a major cultural center. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis is also invited.
"Home, with your heart in Transylvania", this is the slogan of the 27th meeting of the Transylvanian Saxons, the largest organized so far. During the three days of the event, around 12,000 Saxons will be present in Sibiu, most of them currently living in Germany, Austria or the United States of America.
Up to 50 events will be held until Sunday, from exhibitions and book launches to Saxon music and dance performances in the medieval squares of Sibiu.
