RADIO ROMANIA NEWS: The Land Forces Day was marked on Friday in Sibiu, by a military ceremony at the Monument to the Soldier of All Times, located in front of the Military Circle.
A religious service was also performed in memory of fallen soldiers.
Sibiu has the only higher education military institution in the country that trains future officers of the Romanian Land Forces.
A message dedicated to this holiday, from the commander of the Land Forces Academy "Nicolae Balcescu" from Sibiu, Brigadier General Ghita Barsan: April 23, the holiday of all those who work in the Land Forces, finds us this year under the tricolor flag in theaters of operations, in training grounds, in military educational institutions, but also in support of medical staff and public authorities for the prevention and limitation of infection with the COVID-19 virus. The "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy in Sibiu, as an institution that trains command officers for the Romanian Land Forces, has undergone in recent years an extensive restructuring and modernization process. Our graduates have become the vectors that promote the image of the Romanian Army within the North Atlantic Alliance and in the world.
According to RRA correspondent Carmen Vulcan, a photo documentary exhibition entitled "Land Forces, Dignity and Professionalism" opened today at the Military Circle in Sibiu, which can be visited until April 26.
