Klaus Iohannis attends the European Council in Brussels

President Klaus Iohannis is attending the European Council today and tomorrow in Brussels with the main theme being: "The energy crisis and the proposals to combat it".

The head of the community executive, Ursula von der Leyen, argued on Wednesday in front of the MEPs that the manipulation of energy prices by Russia must be fought.

Ursula von der Leyen proposes the joint purchase of natural gas by the member states of the Union, a possible ceiling on their prices, the formation of consortia of gas companies and the conclusion of so-called energy solidarity agreements between neighboring countries.
