Klaus Iohannis announced a new support package for the Republic of Moldova

The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, paid his first official visit to the Republic of Moldova yesterday, meanwhile being the first head of state to arrive in Chisinau after Maia Sandu took over the presidential mandate.
Klaus Iohannis announced a new support package for the Republic of Moldova, including the financing resumption of projects based on a non-reimbursable loan worth 100 million euros, the provision of COVID-19 vaccines, support for farmers, civil society and mass-media.
Maia Sandu stressed that Romania has been with the Republic of Moldova since the first day of its formation as a state and mentioned the importance of energy and road interconnection projects, as well as support for the Moldovan education system.
The two heads of state also signed a joint statement on strengthening the strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, our colleague Cornel Rusnac from Radio Chisinau reports.
