RADOR RADIO ROMANIA (20 January) - Justice Minister Alina Gorghiu announced that 17 fugitives were brought into the country last week and recalled that the Romanian state pays a lot for their repatriation.
Thus, to bring a convicted person back to the country, the state buys three plane tickets, plus the costs of the dock and the accommodation of the police officers involved in the pick-up of the wanted person.
Alina Gorghiu said that last year the cost of repatriation exceeded 10 million lei.
In this context, the minister reiterated that the draft law according to which all costs related to the return to Romania will be borne by the fugitives is already under public debate.
