Judges and prosecutors who have committed criminal offenses will be investigated by appointed magistrates, according to the law promulgated today by the Head of State, which aims to abolish the Section for the Investigation of Offenses in the Judiciary.
Thus, as of the date of entry into force of the document, the Criminal Prosecution Section of the Supreme Court Prosecutor's Office will be in charge of offenses committed by members of the Superior Council of Magistrates, magistrates of the Supreme Court or of the Supreme Court Prosecutor's Office, judges of the courts of appeal and judges of the Constitutional Court.
Criminal acts committed by judges of civil and military courts will be investigated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Appeal.
