Judge Lia Savonea - new Head of CSM

Judge Lia Savonea has been elected as the new Head of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), for a one-year term.

She claimed that justice needed impartial magistrates to prevent abuse of power and that the independence of justice must be real.

President Klaus Iohannis, who attended the meeting, stressed that the CSM should have a dialogue with Parliament in the field of law enforcement and reaffirmed the vital importance of independence in this area, as Rador informs.
