Italian Navy Palinuro School Ship will arrive, on Monday, 13 August, in the Romanian Black Sea port of Constanța, informs the Italian Embassy in Bucharest.
'Palinuro is undergoing the 54th training campaign and has boarded 33 cadets of the' Kratos' course at the Italian Navy’s Academy of Taranto. On board cadets learn marine skills and acquire direct knowledge of the various activities associated with sailing, so that they can adequately and reliably master their future profession. Unit left the Taranto port on 23 July and after stops in Kos, Istanbul and Constanța, it will dock at Batumi, Cephalonia (Greece) and then return to Italy to Reggio Calabria and finally to Livorno, where non-commissioned students will land at the end of the training campaign", source quoted.
During the 2018 training campaign, the Palinuro carries the flag of Gaslini Hospital in Genoa, donated to the ship by the president of the Pediatric Hospital last year, on May 17th, in La Spezia, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the institution's creation.
Commander of the Palinuro will present the 2018 training unit and training campaign during a conference on Tuesday, August 14. On Wednesday, August 15, ship will sail on the Constanța territorial waters, taking part to ceremonies prepared on the occasion of the Romanian Navy Day.
Palinuro will be open for public on Tuesday, 14 August, from 9.00 to 12.00 and from 16.00 to 17.30.
