President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, has described as "revolting" the vote from Wednesday, July 4, when the Chamber of Deputies adopted the amendments to the Criminal Code.

The way Social Democratic Party (PSD) passed through the Parliament, in just a few days, the changes to the Criminal Code constitutes a dictatorship of the majority and is profoundly damaging to democracy, estimates the Head of State.

Basically, the passing of the Criminal Code in a record time was a simulacrum of debate. Through this vote, PSD managed to destroy the dignity of the act of lawmaking, says the Romanian President.

President Klaus Iohannis has made it clear that he will use all constitutional instruments to challenge the changes to the Criminal Law.
