Iohannis, meeting with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, T. Wolters

President Klaus Iohannis discussed on Friday at the Cotroceni Palace with the Supreme Allied Commander-Europe, the American general Tod Wolters, about the current issues on the agenda of the North Atlantic Alliance, context in which the head of state reiterated our country's commitment to participate in operations and NATO missions, and continue to allocate 2% of Gross Domestic Product for defense.

The American general appreciated Romania's participation in the initiatives, operations and missions of the North Atlantic Alliance and highlighted the high level of professionalism of the Romanian military in the theaters of operations in Afghanistan, the Western Balkans and in NATO command structures.

At the end of the meeting, President Klaus Iohannis decorated General Tod Wolters with the National Order "Star of Romania" in the rank of Grand Officer, with the insignia of peace, as a sign of high appreciation for the support given to our country by the Supreme Allied Commander-Europe.
