Brexit deal takes into account interests of the Romanian citizens living, working and studying in the United Kingdom, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said on Sunday, after the Brexit deal was approved by the European Council, according to Radio Romania Actualităţi (RRA) special envoy to Brussels, Alina Stănuţă.
“Deal on UK’s withdrawal from the European Union has been negotiated for a long time, in detail. It reflects all of our concerns such as the future of Romanians living, working and studying in the UK, the EU budget and many other things. Our opinion is that it is a good deal. Rights of Romanians are perfectly protected”, President Iohannis said in Brussels.
Official data at this point show that Romanians working or studying in the UK are the second largest minority after the Poles, and their number is over 400,000.
