Ioana Mihaila: The Indian strain could also become predominant in Romania

The Minister of Health, Ioana Mihaila, declared that the Indian strain of SARS-CoV-2, known as the Delta variant, could become predominant in Romania as well, according to European estimates.
She said hospitals are preparing for a possible fourth wave of the pandemic.
Ioana Mihaila also said that they want to increase the immunization rate and the percentage of those vaccinated, especially now when in some countries the Delta strain is quite widespread.
Yesterday, the Minister of Health visited a cabinet where vaccination is performed, in the locality of Porumbacu de Jos in Sibiu County, where she discussed with family doctors and the management of the Public Health Directorate.
