Investigation on gendarmes' behavior during anti-SDP protests in Topoloveni

Military Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Tribunal has filed a criminal case in rem in connection with the gendarmes’ crackdown on people who protested against the Social Democratic Party, last week, in Topoloveni, Argeș.
Case concerns offenses of abuse of service, abusive behavior and deprivation of liberty.
On Friday, May 17th, ten people protesting in Topoloveni during a visit by PSD leader Liviu Dragnea were taken by the gendarmes and rushed to the police station.
Argeş Gendarmerie informed that the protesters would be sanctioned for attending an unreported public meeting and for their refusal to leave the area at the request of the gendarmes.
