RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The flu vaccines purchased by the Ministry of Health have been administered almost entirely - Minister Alexandru Rafila said. He announced, at a debate, that the law regulating compensated vaccination is currently being worked on, especially for people with chronic diseases. Alexandru Rafila hopes that next year we will have an approach that will lead to the protection of as many people as possible against the flu infection.
Alexandru Rafila: "There is still flu vaccine in pharmacies. Of course, this depends a lot on the manufacturers and distributors. We have practically finished administering the entire amount purchased by the Ministry of Health. There are small quantities left at some GP practices, but basically the 1.5 million doses have been used. Vaccination can still be done, but not for a long time, for another week or two, after that we will probably enter a downward trend, so that we are well past this flu season, which, this year, compared to previous years, has come much faster."
The Minister of Health also added that, in order to control a flu epidemic, approximately 3.5 million people in the risk categories should be vaccinated. At the same time, Alexandru Rafila believes that more work should be done on the development of pre-hospital medical assistance, because people need medical services close to home, easily accessible - RRA reporter Adriana Turea transmitted.
