In Washington, International Monetary Fund (IMF) executive board approved the letter of intent of the Romanian Government, implicitly considering that our country fulfilled its obligations under the agreement which ends.
Prime Minister Victor Ponta stated yesterday that he is confident in a favorable decision and the former Romania's representative to the IMF, Mihai Tanasescu, currently Vice President of the European Investment Bank, said that a new agreement with the IMF is beneficial for our country.
"I am convinced that a new partnership with the IMF", said mister Tanasescu, "is an anchor of stability for Romania and is one thing that can lead to an acceleration of structural reforms".
