Several large companies will relocate their operations in Romania by the end of this year, Romanian Minister of Business, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Ilan Laufer, announced today.
Relocation of these companies that Minister Laufer has not nominated is caused by the fact that Great Britain will leave the European Union, and Romania is now a more attractive destination for investors.
Ilan Laufer: "We suddenly have a lot of new potential investors, from the United States to Japan and China and from other countries that currently have investments in the United Kingdom. And now there's going to be a relocation, there are already discussions in reference to Frankfurt and Paris.
So things come to the continent. With them comes and all the support, there comes a much wider team when we talk about relocation and you should know that they are companies that do not relocate in one country alone.
Part of logistics moves in a particular country, communication, offices and sales - in another country and I say to you that Romania is already receiving constant demands for relocation from companies that work independently on the market".
In terms of investor benefits, Minister of Business noted Romania’s economic growth, the macroeconomic stability and the single income tax rate.
In terms of weaknesses in relation to investors, Ilan Laufer acknowledged Romania's poor transport infrastructure, population aging, bureaucracy and low labor productivity.
