Romania’s men national ice hockey team managed to remain in Group B of the World Championship's Division I this year, after defeating Croatia's similar team on Saturday in Kaunas (Lithuania) with a score of 7-3 ( 2-0, 2-1, 3-2) leading to the fifth place in the four-point ranking.
Victory came in time for the "tricolors" who had previously gathered failures and risked relegation to the fourth world ice hockey echelon. In the first match, Romania lost to Ukraine with the score of 0-3, then to Lithuania (3-8), Estonia (0-1) and Japan (2-3) after extra-time.
Last season of World Championship, Romania has promoted from Group A's Second Division.
