The Modular Hospital in Iasi for treating coronavirus patients, which was supposed to be operational since spring, was inaugurated yesterday.
Our correspondent, Cristina Vartolomei, confirmed that in order to be able to provide medical care, the hospital must also receive authorization from the Public Health Directorate.
The mobile medical unit cost over 13 million euros, but the final amount will be calculated taking into consideartion the penalties that will be applied to the Turkish company that delivered the containers.
The hospital has 256 beds, of which 103 are for Intensive Care.
Alina Popa, director of the Euronest Development Agency, who took care of the acquisition of the unit: The hospital in Iasi is the only Role 3 hospital in Romania and in Southeast Europe. It is also the only hospital to have a negative pressure system for all 256 beds, which reduces the risk of contracting bacteria or other infections to almost zero percent.
