The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, thanked Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca for Romania's solidarity with the Republic of Moldova in the energy crisis.
The head of the community executive wrote on Twitter that this is the European way.
Moreover, the European commissioner for energy, Kadri Simon, recently drew attention to the fact that the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are in a very difficult situation in terms of energy supply, and the emergency involvement of the European Union before the start of winter is vital.
Reduction of gas supplies by Russia, as well as stopping electricity exports from Ukraine could bring the Republic of Moldova to the brink of an energy crisis, say the Chisinau authorities.
